Wow...Rhys is driving the new Hyundai Genesis coupe? Pretty amazing...

I'm actually interested in that car...it looks good on paper, and pretty nice in pictures! The rear end's taillights are cool!

Nah. Rhys isnt driving (at least DRIFTING) this car next season...it was built for Time-Attack. He may be driving it for track events...according to some guys at the shop, Rhys is still talking with several manufacturer's regarding next season.
After seeing his Genesis build, I wouldnt be surprised to see him with Hyundai though...

The Genesis appealed to me from the get go. Last I read about it, it had 3 power plants offered. a 2.0L non-turbo, a 2.0L turbo and a V6. All with a fairly good amount of horse power. I'm not sure if this was made final before it was released but, like Mike mentioned, the car looked damn good on paper.

In all honesty, I am still considering this car as a potential replacement for my 240sx or at the very least, as a daily driver with my 240 as a track whore

TheMayor 11-11-2008 11:01 AM

Thats a nice looking car. Its about time Hyundai makes a decent coupe.

Udrivecrap 11-11-2008 11:46 AM

what is the power to weight ratio?

impressive...

when i got married, we bought a car for my wife and it was a 87 Precis (same as Hyundai)... and it was a POS but it did the job until i traded it in. all that plastic trim kept breaking. the engine was junk, at the time we were told not to use a FRAM oil filter because something in the filter would breakdown and ruin the main bearings. the valve cover gasket started to leak just before it was a couple years old.

cars like this Genesis is what makes it hard for die-hard domestic hot rodders to keep up with the times. you can push 400hp from a small block easily nowdays but the rest of your old hot rod needs to be upgraded to keep up with these new cars.

RWD with a V8 and 3500lbs?... nice :hand:

Drifting is always been a superb and wonderful thing. But there is also a lot of risk in it. You should start under a good and excellent trainer. Otherwise condition could be the worse. But have you seen a mustang drifting. It is famous due to its gear-box.
