i don't think so.

brother-in-law's bike failed safety - we're looking for a used set of rear signals and fender so he can pass safety.

in ca. where he bought it, those things are legal (fender eliminator, flush mount signals) but he got a bit of a surprise when he tried to register his bike down here.

only thing we could think of is to either borrow or procure a stock rear fender to pass safety.

i know there's lots of bikes running around with flushed signals, fender eliminator kits, etc... but they probably did it after getting their safety checks, or the station didn't know (or they had the hookups).

we're trying to do this legally so he can sell his bike later if he wants to.

not legal, i tried 5 different places that use to pass everything - they all got busted. so now you have to be fully legit or have hookups. signals need to be dot approved (you can get cheapo ones from andys), horn working, good tires, etc.

I'm just going to pick up the el-cheapo shit at South Seas and put 'em on myself. Or hell, I might just have them put them on when I get my new grips.

Dammit, I need mirrors too.

If the flushmounts are DOT spec then they should be good to go. I have DOT spec flushmounts on my 06 ZX6R and it passed safety. And as for fender eliminator kits, I have one of those too. As long as there is a red reflector on each side of the fender eliminator and the back of it (facing the cars behind you), you should be good to go. What kind of bike do you have?
