Default axle question

is it possible to swap out the guts of a f350 highlift axle into the tlt axle housing?

mostly.... the diff assemblies are the same except for the highlifts lock pin feature, but they are interchangable. The outer stub shafts and knuckles are exactly the same, The problem is the axle shafts themselves. The highlift's shafts are just a tad bit longer than tlts. The added length is on the outside so internally thay will mount up in the tlt housing but will stick out a little more. It is far enough out that when you try to mount the knuckles they won't line up. This is because the "C" portion on the highlifts stick out a little farther than tlts. So you'll need tlt axle shafts.
