I think track layout has some to do with the M04M's good performance the last few races. A tighter track seems to work in the M04M's favor as it seems to turn into and exit turns better than the M03's. A faster more flowing track would probably work to the M03's favor?

For me I think what makes the M04M a little better than the M03's is that it feels easier to drive. I don't feel on edge when driving it. And it seems to recover better and faster from mistakes. Also has Manny said about the M03's high cg the M04M feels more stable and does not get as upset when you hit a rail or dot.

I don't think you have to give up on your M03M. Maybe that Black Can though

I think I am still finishing in the middle of the pack with either car!

Nope don't plan to change to a 04. Mini class is just to fun to worry about beatin anybody in. I just love it, no presure the car just is a blast to drive. Shut d and Keiji will be running 1/12 scale, awesome. Now that class is getting real intense.

I run soft rear, hard fronts for inserts. Just so happened to be the same set up as my 03. The main reason why my 04 is stable is mainly from the tires and the silver can. Throw a blk can in, and she is a totally different animal. I still think the m03 is more stable if you get the lines precise. I can still spin it out if I mash the throttle while a locked steering. The reason why I drive this chassis is because it looks prettier, low cg, and less wheel spin(silvercan).

Believe it or not, Mini is the hardest, most competitive class for me. A lot of it has to do with the large number of good drivers that seem to have a really fast setup (Keiji,Kila, Shut D, Xtant) not to mention some really good drivers that are still working on a setup (Burt, Go Frank). Because of the reasons in my last post, my mini isn't easy to drive and I exert tons more effort and concentration finishing in the middle of pack in this class (look at my finishing record in this class) than finishing near the top in 1/12 or GT. Not that they aren't tough classes, IMO Mini is the toughest.

Because of the extreme mix of driver experience, I think this is a class where you can really build your racecraft. You really learn when to pass, how to avoid traffic, and how to race effectively against different driving styles. Of course it's always fun to win, but the driving experience I get from this class is invaluable.

So don't leave Shut D! Just do the Triple Class Ironman. There should be a special prize for winning all three classes!

Not for me. Mini is competitive but it's my fun class. If I do well that's just a bonus 1/12th is my hardest class. The car is a lot more difficult to drive well.

Mini is my fun class too. All you really need is a good tire and servo, and you're set.

I have fun in both Mini and C-Dan classes!

I think both the M03 and M04 are fun to drive. The M04 seems to have more of an issue with the stock servo saver compared to the M03. I had to use a ziptie on mine and at the last race in the 2nd qualifier it came off and my steering went to hell! The car would just pull to the right on power. Never had that issue with the M03 unless the turnbuckle popped off.

I got into the M04M also after seeing how Keiji has his running. And that I got it for a really good price! I am still running as I want to get more experience with it. It is nice to see a different body style But I like the look of the Swift/Civic also.

Too bad there's no body for it like the one in your avatar. I do want to try another body on my 03. Yeah the CG is high on the 03 but I think a lot of the roll comes from a very tall and heavy body. Love the look of the Swift but it is real high and rocks around a bunch.

HEHE I would run a civic body to. I almost did as I bought one for the M03M. And would have used it on the M04M if not for finding a Miata the week of the race!

I know this chassis isn't the most popular but dang 1 1/2 years since the last post

Well I'll be hoping to be racing my M04M again Picked up some tires for it just need to find some wheels? Hobby Co. had some but only for the New Mini Cooper Wanting to get some of the Old Mini Cooper wheels as they should go good with the HPI Datsun bodies

Ask me if you need any info on the M04. For one thing, I found it better to use different inserts for the F/R.

I'll assume softer rear inserts with harder front inserts? Or?
