With a link car your going to want a bit higher ride height then a t-plate car. I run mine at 4.5 to 5mm with 1mm up travel on the rear droop. Front droop is about 1 shim thickness.

Whelp...I done put a new servo in my car so now I get to mess around with an angled servo setup. Wanted to see what the change in ackerman would do. Took some drilling to get it in there as it doesn't line up with the stock servo mount slots but all in all I'm happy with how it did come out.
Planning on going up to Kunia tomorrow with the 1/12th to test out the track...anyone else gonna be there? What time should I go? |

So how do you like the Serpent front end? Is it worth the money?

Well it was less then the CRC front end for a long upper arm suspension...however once you add in the 9 degree caster mount (which I haven't got yet) then the price is about the same. There are a few quirks about it I do not like but all in all it looks like a good suspension. We'll see how it works tomorrow.

Well I rather liked the front end...I've just got to tune the car around it now to get it working right.

Most people who ran there in the past ran the same tires they do on the normal OCS track. My car was a bit loose with that but I was having some really bad tweak issues I did not know about at the time. It couldn't hurt to bring a softer rear tire as an option just in case. We do spray a good deal of sugar water so traction is usually good.

Well gots me some new paint for the 4th race! My first attempt with a graphite look and it came out good for a first try. I think I'll have to change the colors though, didn't get as much of a contrast as I wanted from the red to the neon red.

Well now that we are racing 1/12th again at RWH I figured I'd revive this thread some.
Just picked up some new parts to mess around with. Got the 4-40 adapter for the CRC Encore shock so I'll be running that soon to make spring changes easier without messing up my shock length. And I picked up the new CRC 16 ball diff gears. I swapped out the gear on my 1/12th just a few minutes ago and man is this smooth! I didn't even sand out the diff rings yet and it already feels quite good. They also appear to be extremely round for a molded gear. One thing to note though is you'll probably need to use an unflanged bearing in the gear. On my IRS axle I had to use the unflanged bearing. I'm debating putting my old Slapmaster thrust bearing back in but haven't decided on that yet. I hear using the flat side on the thrust bearing makes them much smoother than the machined side.
