anybody have sapre vcs shocks they would want to sell?
So does the L4 use a "big ring" type diff, if so I may just buy the axle and hub, and do a conversion.

Not sure if I have that many but at the very least I can spare a couple to put between the washer and the bearing. Hobbietat had some AE ones a while back you might want to pick up but they are a bit tall so you'll still want to use a couple of the ones I have on the inside up against the bearing.

try associated offroad stuff, The older gt's used a 1/4 axle so you could use washers from that to shim it. HobbyCompany may have.....

Okay...

The speedmerchant came in and she is a beaut......

I put on Pink rears (brand new) and purple fronts. I checked out the suspension and she looks to be pretty good. Not really going to mess around with it just yet. How it feels is okay for me, but I won't know until I probably run her on Sunday.

Now is it okay that she runs a little higher in the rear than in the front. I kinda run my sedan that way and my L4 is pretty much leveled off. As far as the diff feels......pretty loose, but not that loose. Little gritty when I spin her, so I'll probably need to clean it out...but not that bad. Should I give her a tear down in the rear or should I just wait until after Sunday???

I do have a copy of the instructions, but I don't really know to much about this car. Other than that, I am going to solder on some tabs to the batts and tabs to the ESC and take her out for a short cruise in the parking lot.

Anything else I should check on?????

thanks

Inspector...I'll take one.

Guess it's gotta be done after the races, but I'll race her the way she is right now.

Inspector....thanks for the bearing. I need to tear down the rear end of the Speedmerchant and redo the diff.

Just found out that I snapped a dampner tube and just ordered a replacement part online.

Okay...I found out the hard way that I need to start to carry extra tires. But could people give some samples of what they are running.

Thanks again to FJR for selling me some pink rears...I totaly went through them today and learned the hard way to....STOCK SOME EXTRA's...

AAWWWRIGHTTTTT...post what you running so I can get some back ups in. I currently run Pink rears with purple fronts. But my car was still a little bit squirrly on the track. I know Inspector was sampling some Magenta's all around. I forgot what FJR was running...

I need some idea's on what to buy so that I can order all one time and save on shipping...

thanks guys...

Actually I was running Magenta rear and Purple front...that worked out pretty well. Seemed to have about the same grip as pink with a bit less wear. You gotta watch the ride height on that SM car...I've found the link cars are very sensitive to ride height. I set mine at 5mm, it starts getting squirely as it gets close to 4mm.

Ash did you ever find a shock? I beleive the L4 does use the large D-rings but I'm not 100% sure.

I figured out why my steering seemed like there was too much...Running the reciever pack my servo was being powered at 6v and much quicker then it is off of 4.8V. Now time to get rid of the Spektrum and my excuses will be gone...LOL

The PRS spur gears I ordered came in today...could have used them yesterday! LOL Anyway they look really good. Machined delrin instead of molded plastic so they spin very true. The delrin used feels harder then what RRP used to use so they should be more durable.
