When you guys go down to the track, let them know you heard about it on hawaiitalks.net. I'll also be posting a flyer for the Summer Nationals in July.

TRF and I had an adventure trying to find it! Once you know where it is pretty easy. Right across the street from Woodcraft you'll see a ramp going up to the top of one of the buildings. Go up that ramp and the track is up there.

Man we had a good time. Not a lot of people were there due to the holiday weekend but I think that worked out better for us. The guys gave us all different kinds of cars to try out so we got to drive a lot. TRF had me in reaction time for the most part. He got near perfect twice with a .504 and a .506 with .500 being perfect. My best was a .511. After running drags for awhile we went and ran some HO road racing. That was a blast! It's just a bit different from running 1/32nd in that the magnets have a bit more effect with even just the stock cars. Personally I've never been much of a fan of drag racing in general or of HO slots but my mind is changed.

Glad the you guys could go and check the track out. Sorry I wasn't there. I was on Maui with my family this weekend at the races there, but I'm glad you guys had a great time. We'll be having a Summer Nationals event in July. I'll keep you posted.

I used to slot car race BIGTIME when there was the track in that warehouse next to BUZZ's in Pearl City. I used to beg my dad to drop me off for the afternoon and pick me up later on that day. I had the best time there. I think that there was 2 tracks and 1 drag track.

I remeber the wasp motor and all that other good stuff. Used to buy wood and make that slot to store my cars in so that the metal strips that hit the track wouldn't get screwed up.

Wouldn't mind checking it out again though....when I have the time I going head down..

i think i will start with a basic starter kit. The parma edge Ready to drag set.
i've been looking on e-bay, and there are a-lot of good deals, but i still want to build my own chassis.

yeah, i will probably buy the Parma Edge Starter Kit...i dont think i will be getting that serious into Slot Drags, but i do want to build a few.

Ryan, what are the rules for slot drags? Classes? weights? bodies? Index?

or is it pretty much run-what-cha-brung for the bracket racing?

how much does it cost to race?

We've been running index races lately. In a couple months I'll be putting together an outlaw muscle car race which would be heads up. Also happening soon will be a mountain motor pro stock race too, and of course bracket racing every weekend too.

The parma edge kit is a very good starter kit. I used the car in that kit to run both the .690 & .790 index. All I did was change the bodies. I used a hard body for the .790 and cnaged to the lexan for the .690. Index and bracket racing are the most affordable, if you ask me. I heard you were pretty good on the tree. You made the regulars there nervous (LoL). Really, you did.

Aloha, Ryan

On index and bracket racing basically antyhing goes. As far as building chassis you should go down to the track and talk to the guys. They'll gladly help you with that. They do that with me and anyone else that needs help. Just ask.

Hey Ryan, i plan on running the bracket racing this friday. i bought the Parma Edge RTD set, and i want to mount a hard body on it. is it ok if i use any body? or does it have to be american cars only?

also, what are some good websites for slot drags? (other than DRS www.slotcar.com) i would like to change the wheels/tires/motor on the Edge chassis.

do you got any tips or speed secrets as far as gearing/tires/weight?

is 4 wheel drive legal for drags?

i got the bugg!! i cant wait to race this friday. i might even show up thursday night for testing and tuning...

Hey TRF,

You can use any motor, any body, 4wd, or 2wd in bracket and index racing. No problem at all.

As far as speed secrets, I'm one of the slowest ones out there. My son runs brackets and the index races only (so far), but you can as guys like Derek, Steven, Bobby, Cal, Terry, and a few other guys about how to make these hot rods fly. Those are the gurus.

Check out this site for drag racing scoops: www.club400.8m.com. That's a great spot to chat and learn about slot car drag racing.

Congradulations on your new purchase. Warning: It's addicting (LoL).

See you at the races..

Hey PAKA!
i saw some some TE27 kits on www.hlj.com . check out that website! they got all the cool old school japanese car models. but, i havent found any at the shops around here. other than whats at hobby company at pearl ridge.

the Parma Edge Drag Starter Kit costs about $140.00 at AHORA SPEEDWAY. i think it a little less than that, but still, a really good deal, because it comes with everything you need to get on the track and start racing. My kit came with a 68 camaro lexan body! it also comes with controller, tool box, set up board, oils, traction compound, tools, decals, and a few other extra parts.
like i said, i got a celica hard body im going to mount on it! i just can't decide what color to paint it!!!

CHEEE HOOO!!!!
