Here's the .690 Line Up Tonight.

Big Mahalos to Derek for running the race tonight, and a Big Mahalo also goes out to the racers, the families and friends who made it out to the races tonight.

Hope everyone had a great time and don't forget, the track is open every Thursday thru Saturday during the evening hours. Hope to see you there soon. Aloha

Hey , no prob TFR, glad you had a good time. .685, nothing to be ashamed of though. I know you car was running low 7's all night, but yeah the .685 was unexpected. At least you have a car that is compettive. That starter kit was a good investment. Next race July 14 (Summer nationals), until then we'll be bracket racing. Thanks again for coming out. See you at the track.
Aloha, Ryan

Raja Dat Tatum. He was on the tree with a few red lights, but during eliminations he was on it. Yeah, come out and blow the dust off of those hot rods. Friday night brackets are always a blast. See you there.

That is pretty cool stuff...can someone explain to me how it all works? Are the motors mechanical or electrical? Is it like slot racing for the most part?

Mike, the speed is controlled with a resistor type speed control.Like the mechanical one found in the old rc10. It uses a wiper which slides over a metal wrapped resistor. Some of the controls are far more advanced, they have gain controls for roll out of TC. its exactly like the HO scale in concept, but much bigger.the motors are removable, brushes can be replaced, motors can be rewound-in HO scale cars the magnets are part of the chassis and the armature pops out.the contacts under the car are actually shunt wire. On most of the drag cars the front tires dont even touch the track. these cars are cool cause you can use your model car bodies on them. i think thats what sets them off!!!one of the guys actually scratchbuilt most of the cars in the pictures, using a secret ingredient.........if its okay to tell, ill let ryan spill the beans. Hope this helps

Hey Ryan, thanks for the phone conversation and the web address.

Steven told me about these for the last week or so (you know he's here for work, and staying at our place), and that's when he found out that I used to work at Tom Thumb's "back in the day".

I'm impressed with the totally purpose-driven (pun intended) drag cars and accessories nowadays. I remember when we had to slaughter brass Womp-womps and Group 12 cars, and solder brass and piano wire to build our dragsters. The better guys bought their own motor brackets and pillow blocks and went from the ground up.

I'm tempted to slide Steve some $$$ when he goes home on Thursday so he can get me an Edge. Build a test track here (anyone sell track braid?). Gotta represent the "outer islands"!

I come "home" every other month, sometimes once a month, for business, and it would be cool to drop in and shoot the "b" with you guys.

Keep up the great work! I'm in trouble now!

Hey Hee Haw, No problem. You should build a track there on Molokai. As fas as braids and stuff for a track, Steven would be the man to see. I think a slot car track would do good on Molokai. We'd probably not see Steven much, but new winners would be nice here j/k (LoL). Steven is one the ringers here . I think alot of the racers would enjoy a trip to Molokai to race.

Nice talking to you aswell. Hope to hear more about a track on Molokai soon. Stop by the track sometime when you're here.

Aloha, Ryan

Here's a pic of the newest hot rod to Ethan & Kayla's collection.

Incase you haven't been to the track lately, there have been a few racers who are getting some mean machines ready for that Muscle Car Shootout in August. I'll posting some clarifications on the rules for that race soon, both here and at the track. Just to be sure everyone is one the same page.

Hey Jesus, most of us went to Hawaii Plastics on Dillingham Blvd. If you decide to go there, ask for Goody. Let him know that you'll be using it for slot car racing, and they can rip the grove down the middle for you too.

hey everyone....just wanted to let yall know i'm having a blast at the slot drags. i wish more of you guys were into this also.

I like it mostly because its a weekly thing instead of 2wice a month, and it doesn't cost as much as RC cars do. It's also harder than it looks....

I'll post pics of my own cars soon.

Default AHORA hosts birthday parties too.

Wassup Hawaii Talks gaing!! Hey not sure if everyone knows but AHORA Raceway host birthday parties too. We just got home from Oli's party today, and the rates are very resonable too. Here's some pics.

Here's the birthday boy. Happy B-day Oli.

Titan & his scratch built fire truck.

Kids running some H.O.

And as you can see there was alot of good food

Don't forget that AHORA Raceway does provide both H.O. & drag cars if you don't have any cars to go racing. So if you'd like to schedule a party or just try your hand at some slot car racing come on down to 1320 Kalani St (Next to Fred's Auto Top Shop).Or if you need more info, PM me, and I'll glady help you out. Aloha, Ryan

I use to race off and on at RJX Speedway in Sand Island. I moved out of state for awhile and when I returned I found that RJX Speedway was no more. I have vey fond memories of the place but what was most memorable was a bunch of guys (I think they were all related) who called themselves the "Crazy Bunch Racing". They were really friendly, always joking around, razing each other, very competiive, and had some fast cars. They always welcomed me to sit with them when I was there. Are any of those guys racing at your track? I'll stop by one day, maybe I'll get back into the game.
